Redeemer Lutheran School is a member of the largest system of Protestant schools in the nation and joins with more than 2100 other Lutheran schools in an education tradition that began more than 150 years ago. The school, begun by the membership of Redeemer Lutheran Church in 1953, currently serves the community with early childhood, early elementary, and extended care programs. Redeemer’s early childhood and elementary programs are licensed by the State of New Jersey. We are accredited by both Middle States and by the National Lutheran Schools Association.
Redeemer Lutheran School is unashamedly a Christian school and seeks to emphasize the Christian’s personal relationship with Jesus, and with the world they live in as God’s child. All students participate in daily religion classes with Bible-based and life-related lessons and in our weekly chapel service. Redeemer School makes no attempt to indoctrinate into the Lutheran faith, but clearly affirms faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin are permitted all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students. Discrimination on the basis of race, color, national and/or ethnic origin is not permitted in administration of educational policies, athletic, and other school-administered programs. No student shall be denied access to programs, activities, services, or benefits, or be limited in the exercise of any right, privilege, advantage, or opportunity.
Our faculty meets all the requirements for State of New Jersey certification for elementary and early childhood educators. They demonstrate academic and professional competence in teaching, with some holding advance degrees and certificates in education. Our staff is made up of dedicated, creative, compassionate teachers with personal interest in helping each child reach his/her full potential.
Curriculum and Textbooks
A comprehensive curriculum is taught including spanish, art, music, computers, and physical education. The entire teaching staff participates in the curriculum writing, which is aligned with the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards and approved by the Redeemer School Board. Textbooks, computers, learning aids, and other resources consistent with any quality school are used to bring out the best in young students.
Parents in Partnership
Redeemer Lutheran School views Christian education as a partnership between home and school. Parents are encouraged to participate in their child’s educational experience by working together with their child’s teacher and by participating in our Parent Teacher Organization. The PTO is incorporated with Redeemer Lutheran School and regularly holds educational, social, and fundraising events, which directly benefit students and families.
